Your raid has just finished, but you want to go back to the dungeon right after the celebration. But there's one problem... you had too much beer.

Drunken Dungeoneer is minimalistic idle dungeon crawler, where the player can't control the dungeoneer but can alter it's behaviour while exploring.

How many floors can you survive?

Hints:

  • While the dungeoneer is sober, he will try to find the shortest path to the exit.
  • Eating meat would restore random HP point
  • Drinking speed potion while sober will help you exit faster

Have fun and share your results!

Post jam update:

  • Added auto sobering up (7% chance on every step)
  • The dungeoneer now consumes meat if the would die from enemies or obstacles
  • The dungeoneer now consumes speed potion if he steps on web

Drunken Dungeoneer was made under 48h for GMTK Gamejam - Theme: OUT OF CONTROL.

Interesting concept, a bit difficult to get to grips with initially but overall quite fun

Original concept, very well fit to the theme. Impressive that you made a whole dungeon generating system plus an AI to traverse it.

I feel like it is impossible to die if you just spam the three buttons. I stopped healing after 37 floors and survived until floor 54 with many healing items to spare.

Now these suggestions may be obvious but: I would suggest ramping up difficulty, a shop, and some more room for strategy behind when to use your items. (Also sound)

Cool idea, really loved the game

A drunken dungeoneer who can't be controlled completely is such a cool idea, good job!

This is fantastic, great job!

835, floor 14. Sadly ran out of meat while running a few times over spikes in that level. Tried to sober up to skip to the exit. But he failed :P

Very nice game, lovely take on the idle gameplay

I really like the idea, I think your random idle movement game with my random idle battle management game. Could make a really interesting Action-Adventure Idle game.

Just played your game! Really, it would make interesting idle game.

550 steps,  I haven't played a game like that before.

Nice! Thanks for playing! Our current record is 5912 steps at floor 120.

Really cool concept but I wish it had more depth

Thanks for playing! I plan on expanding the game after the jam. Need to play more "idle" games for ideas. :)

ooh I'm pretty excited
